Description:
Set in an island paradise during World War II, two parallel love stories are threatened by the dangers of prejudice and war. Nellie, a spunky nurse from Arkansas, falls in love with a middle-aged French planter, but refuses his proposal of marriage. Meanwhile, the strapping Lt. Joe Cable denies himself the fulfillment of a future with an innocent Tonkinese girl with whom he's fallen in love.
The comic antics of the Sailors, Marines, Seabees and native entrepreneur Bloody Mary introduce us to the wonders and frustrations of island life in this musical treasure that has won seventeen Tony awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Memorable songs such as “I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair," “There is Nothing Like a Dame," " "Younger than Springtime," “Cockeyed Optimist,” “Honey Bun” "I'm in Love with a Wonderful Guy" and "Some Enchanted Evening" help make this one of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beloved shows.

Description:
CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES was the best-selling musical in Maples Rep history. What better way to celebrate our 10th season than to check back in at the East Cornucopia Lutheran Church one year later?
This time around, the year is 1969 and the world is a-changin’. As folks protest the Vietnam War and woman are demanding equal pay for equal work, in their small rural Minnesota community, the ladies are serving high school students at a banquet, performing at a church sponsored missionary night and experience the rise and fall of a Viking's Super Bowl Sunday. From the elderly matriarch of the kitchen to the young mom-to-be, these women find strength in each other as they deal with the joys and upheavals from below the "House of God!"
"You'll laugh until your sidedish hurts" with their hilarious antics and down-to-earth charm. This is most certainly true.

Description:
Aging widow and former concert pianist Margaret Mary, values her independence and would prefer to be alone with her piano in her upper West Side apartment. She keeps her neighbors at a distance and avoids contact except with Cara, a violin-playing, spinster who lives in her building. The two women have an uneasy relationship founded on their mutual love of playing waltzes together.
Cara is shocked when Margaret Mary engages a rather kooky, young, would-be actress as her paid, live-in companion. Relations between the three are strewn with hilarious pitfalls from the start, but Margaret Mary’s spirited will goads the others to rise above their problems, to stake a personal claim on life, and to resist, with all their strength, the infirmities and misfortunes of the world.
Originally starring Katharine Hepburn and Dorothy Loudon (Shirley MacLaine and Liza Minnelli in the movie) this funny, heartwarming play by the author of On Golden Pond is reminiscent of Driving Miss Daisy. It focuses on friendship lost and found; tested and true; ever expanding.
